There are about 10 working groups in C.E.F

Green English Class

This English conversation class focuses on environmental issues, with a small number of students in a homelike atmosphere. Native English-speaking teachers fascinate students with forefront news on overseas environmental movement.

Eco-Tour Study Group

This group plans tours, which impose least damage on environment and feature communication / interaction with local natural habitat, ways of life, and people. They also propose and organize school
trip programs in which these students coming here can get in touch with environment and harmonized scenery of historical Kyoto.

Oharano Forest Field Club

This group is engaged in protecting and making use of ecosystems in mountains surrounding human habitat. Their activities include nature watching, charcoal making, and Japanese mushroom plantation at a mountainous section, which they rent in Oharano, a western part of Kyoto.
They also operate solar power generation and the reuse of rainwater at the cabin built by them in the section.

Natural Housing Study Group

This group organizes seminars about environmental issues in "housing and life" and advocates housing and lifestyles harmonized with nature. In 1998, they are carrying out the "Citizens' School for Natural Housing," a series of 8 lectures.

Eco Farm

This group is engaged in composting for fertilizer and organic farming of vegetables, through which they can learn the link between food and environment. At the harvest festival, they enjoy outdoor cooking using just cultivated vegetables under the blue sky.

Rappin Cooking Class

This cooking class is concerned about both health and environment. They also operate seminars and workshops about "eating" for learning the link between food and environment.

Eco City Study Group

This group researches and implements processes to create ecological cities. We are currently conducting an eco-city program in a city, which begins with human empowerment.
"Nonojuku," a guiding class on environmental issues.
This group organizes events on various topics such as seminars on environment, visits to environmental facilities, nature watching, ecological study tours etc. This is a broad entrance for those who intend to learn and take actions on environment.

Green Consumerism Study Group

This group advocates seeking ecological lifestyle with environment-conscious shopping. They are preparing for publishing a shopping guide, the result of their extensive research on environmental responsiveness of stores and supermarkets. In addition, they organize various workshops.

SKIP (Super Keen In Peace)

This group is committed to providing children with knowledge on environmental issues in an easily understandable way. Some of their events and workshops are carried out jointly with other
groups."Eco-Fighter show" is the comical and encouraging demonstration that"Ondanka("global warming"in Japanese)-X"and"Eco-Fighter" appear on the stage.

"Midori no News-Letter" EDITION Group

This group edits monthly magazine "Midori no News-Letter" thatintroduces our activity and disclosures information to our menbers.
